Since founding the group in June 2019, Mohit has organized and led hiking trips across the US. As a fresh transplant from Colorado to Illinois, Mohit was motivated to continue to living the outdoor lifestyle while also making new friends. With a belief that exploring nature is more meaningful when accompanied by fellow hikers, Mohit set out to find like minded people. The belief turned out to be true, as almost everyone Mohit met was looking for a platform to connect with others and explore nature in a meaningful manner while forming lasting connections.
Casual Hikers was formed to enable people to explore nature and experience new places, while forming lasting connections.
I’ve always loved the outdoors, adventure, and exploring new places. Over the years, hiking became my favorite way to unwind, stay curious, and experience the unique beauty of trails across more than 20 states. Finding this group was a true gem—it brought together like-minded people who simply enjoy getting outside and sharing the journey.
Today, I hike with and for my daughters, and I organize both kid-friendly and non-kid hikes to create welcoming, fun experiences where everyone can explore, connect, and enjoy the outdoors together.
I’m a physical therapist, hiker, and adventure-seeker who believes movement is medicine and the mountains are the best classroom. I lead hikes that challenge the body, steady the mind, and build confidence—from iconic climbs like Mailbox Peak and Pikes Peak to the journey toward Everest Base Camp.
My background as a physical therapist shapes how I guide: with smart preparation, injury prevention, thoughtful pacing, and care for every person on the trail. I believe strong bodies and calm minds make for powerful, meaningful experiences.
I’ve explored trails across Utah, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Maharashtra—often alongside my son—and I’m rarely without a camera, capturing the quiet magic of the journey.
Train with intention. Hike with heart.
